Lots of brides are looking for great ways to save money on their weddings by doing some little things that they can on their own. This is probably why DIY wedding tips have gotten so popular over the years. There are lots of great places where you can save on your wedding just by doing some of the little tasks on your own. DIY wedding programs are one of the most popular places where brides can save a little bit more of that wedding cash by doing it themselves. I know that DIY wedding programs were one of the places where I was able to save a little bit off the bottom line at my wedding, and it was so easy that I encourage all brides to take part of it. After all, there is no reason to overpay when all it takes is an hour or two on the computer and a home printer for DIY wedding programs. Here is what I did, in hopes that it can help any other bride out there who is thinking about making her own DIY wedding programs.

Making DIY Wedding Programs

Perhaps the easiest way to make DIY wedding programs is to use software that is already on your computer. Personally, I used the Microsoft Publisher that was already on my computer. This software has a bunch of great formats for DIY wedding programs along with page formats that you can use to make a professional looking wedding program. Simply enter all of your information and format the page the way that you like. Remember to include everything that you want to include on your DIY wedding program, such as music selection, the names of your bridal party, and an invitation and map to your wedding reception if you choose. Next, it’s time to go to the printers.

Printing DIY Wedding Programs

Once you’re done making the final tweaks and proof reading your DIY wedding programs, then it’s time to print them up and there are a couple of great ways to do this. One way is to do it completely yourself by purchasing a nice heavy card stock and an extra print cartridge and using the printer that you have at the house to do it for you. Another popular option is to put your wedding program on a thumb drive and take it in to your local print shop who can print it on heavy paper and put them in a folding machine (yes they have those and they are fabulous!), for only a couple of cents per copy. So when you’re making your decision on printing DIY wedding programs you need to be reasonable about how much time you have to print and fold your programs. If you have the time and it’s no problem, then save the extra cash and do it yourself.

There are lots of great DIY wedding ideas that can really save you a lot of money if you are willing to put in the time and the effort. And when it comes right down to it, you can have a wedding just as beautiful as someone who spent that much more on their wedding with a little bit of creativity and a willingness to do it yourself. That’s part of what makes DIY weddings so much fun!
